Air North, Yukon's Airline
In the midst of this ever-changing environment, the team at Air North, Yukon’s Airline is committed to keeping gateway and regional air travel running with sustainable capacity to best meet the needs of passengers. We are continuously monitoring and following advice from the Public Health Agency of Canada to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 to our passengers, employees and the communities we serve.
As demand for air travel drops during this crisis, most airlines in Canada – and around the world – are reducing capacity by cancelling and consolidating flights. Several airlines have suspended operations entirely and at least one airline has gone bankrupt.
We know that air travel in the north is more of an essential service than in the south, so we don’t expect demand to drop as significantly, but we are already seeing a need to cancel and consolidate certain flights on our network. In these circumstances, we will do our best to contact all of our affected passengers, however, we encourage you to check your emails, voicemails, and our website for schedule change notifications. We will also do our best to re-accommodate your travel with minimal inconvenience. Under these unprecedented and extremely challenging circumstances, we are working with other carriers in order to maximize options for travellers as overall market capacity shrinks in response to declining demand.
As we consolidate flights, we are mindful of “social distancing” considerations as they relate to COVID-19 and are endeavoring to manage both capacity and yield with this in mind.
We have already enhanced our aircraft cabin grooming and sanitization procedures and we have made changes to our in-flight service in order to maximize a clean cabin environment.
These are difficult times for everyone, but rest assured that all of us at Air North, Yukon’s Airline are working hard to be there for you. Combined with the support we receive from Yukoners, we have the tools we need to navigate this turbulence together. Thank you for your interest and questions. We will continue to look out for each other. Stay healthy, and we’ll share the sky again soon.”
